I Specialize in

  • Genealogical  trips to your ancestral towns.

  • Geological and paleontology  trips. I am only one guide  in Baltic States who offers tourists the possibility to find the panzer and fish teeth of Devonian period (350 millions years ago, when the life just started to come out of water).

  • Regular 5-days tours TALLINN-RIGA-VILNIUS, with visits to ancestral towns and main sightseeing of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania

  • Birds watching with strong binoculars in Kolka sea corn, in my opinion the most energetic locality in our region.

  • Adventures in natural reserves: Slitere in Latvia and Curonian split in Lithuania.

Here are some reasons to visit  Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia

  • NATURAL BEAUTY. The islands of Estonia, red rocks and caverns of Sigulda in Latvia, blue lakes of Latgale,  Old towns of Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius – all this sites are full with charm and you never forget such beauty. The great German geographer Alexander Humboldt (1769-1859) wrote : “ Everybody must see the Curonian Spit  as everybody must see Italy or Greece “. Follow  the advice and you will never regret it!

  • RICH HISTORY, REFLECTED IN ARCHITECTURE. The profitable geographical position of this land always attracted the invaders : Vikings, Danes, Germans, Poles, Swedes and Russians. By this reason the countries are very interesting for those interested in history- you can see the ruins of  castles of German knights of XIII century, the port towns of XIV-XVII centuries, gorgeous art nouveau buildings . Do not forget the baroque Rundale palace of Duke of Kurland, which can to compete with Versailles and tsar's palaces of Saint Petersburg. You can visit the ethnographical Museums for to see how  lived local peasants and fishermen.

  • THIS IS  MOTHERLAND OF RABBI  ABRAHAM KOOK AND VILNO GAON,  PAINTERS MARC ROTHKO , YEHUDA PENN, ISAACK LEVITAN , CIURLIONIS AND JANIS  ROZENTALS  , FILM DIRECTOR SERGEY EISENSTEIN, FRENSH FILOSOFER EMMANUEL  LEVINAS AND WRITER ROMAIN GARY, NOBEL PRIZE LAUREAT  WILHELM OSTWALD, POETS JANIS RAINIS, LIDIA KOIDULA, ADAM MICKEVICZ AND  CZESLAV MILOSZ.

  • THIS IS WHERE GREAT GERMAN PHILOSOPHER  HERDER AND WRITER  TOMAS MANN, HISTORIAN SHIMON DUBNOW AND  SCULPTURE JACOB LIPSHUTZ. LIVED.

  • DELICIOUS AND INEXPENSIVE FOOD. And  excellent beer!!! In  regular restaurant or café  you can order full diner for EUR7 per person only.

  • BALTIC COUNTRY IS A GREAT RESORT AREA. In Soviet times Jurmala in Latvia, Palanga in Lithuania and Parnu in Estonia were third most popular resorts in USSR after Crimea and Caucasus. This is because the cocktail of  fresh sea, long sand beaches, high  pine trees with balsamic air and full with  cranberry, blueberry and blackberry.

  • JUST NEARBY – SWEDEN , FINLAND, RUSSIA. From Tallinn you can made 1 day trip to Helsinki. Or 3 days trip to Stockholm from Riga by ship. By train, bus or airplane  you can visit Moscow or St Petersburg.

  • One day or several days, I provide tour guide, hotel reservations, transportation arrangements (taxi, rental car, mini-vans, buses), tour operation of cruise ships, organizing of meetings with local Jewish communities or any another wishes. Please contact me aleksgen@balticgen.com

  • My fee as guide  is  EUROS 100 per day tour  – one fee for groups or individual tourists. A Short 2 hour Riga tour cost only EUROS 60!
